Fire pit to blame for deck fire in Trotwood

UPDATE @ 3:15 a.m.:

Fire crews were able to contain damage to a minimum after a portable fire pit broke and started a fire on an attached deck.

Crews were called out around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to the 4000 block of North Snyder Road in Trotwood when officials say the legs of a fire pit broke off and caught a portion of a home’s attached deck on fire.

Crews were able to put the flames out quickly with little damage done to the deck.

No injuries have been reported.

Fire crews have responded to a reported structure fire in the 4000 block of North Snyder Road in Trotwood.

Initial reports indicate the fire is on the outside of the structure on an attached deck.
