Darke Co. home is repairable after fire, says owner

Homeowner Steve Barga said he thinks the house is repairable.

The business attached to the house — Barga’s Electric Motor Service and Sales — was not damaged by the fire.

The fire appears to have started near the wood burning stove in the living room, according to Barga.

UPDATE @ 4:30 a.m.

Firefighters have knocked down a fire that started in a two story farmhouse early Tuesday morning.

Fire crews from Greenville City, Greenville Township and others responded to the blaze.

No injuries have been reported and the fire remains under investigation.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters have responded from multiple jurisdictions in Darke County to a structure fire in the 4600 block of Ohio 121.

Crews responded around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday on reports of smoke inside the structure, but found smoke and flames visible from the building according to initial reports.

No injuries have been reported and initial reports suggest all residents were able to safely evacuate.
