Westbound U.S. 35 reopens after wrong-way crash

UPDATE @ 11:30 p.m.:

A wrong-way driver injured two people after crashing on westbound U.S. 35.

Police say an older man driving a silver Toyota was lost and confused, drove the wrong way on U.S. 35 near Wayne Avenue, and crashed into a P.T. Cruiser. Two occupants inside the P.T. Cruiser suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Toyota was not injured in the crash.

The crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. Monday, and shut down the highway while police investigated. All lanes reopened on westbound U.S. 35 around 11:15 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.

UPDATE @ 11:15 p.m.:

Crews have reopened U.S. 35 at Wayne Avenue after a crash involving a wrong-way driver shut down the highway.

No information was available about any injuries sustained in the crash.

Officers have shut down all lanes of westbound U.S. 35 near Wayne Avenue.
