Logan Cole calls his recovery from school shooting a ‘miracle’

Logan Cole, the West Liberty-Salem student shot at the school Jan. 20, spoke Wednesday about his recovery.

The 16-year-old said he’s feeling good and life is getting “back to normal,” during a radio interview with WBLL in Bellefontaine.

“It’s nice to be getting out and seeing people and getting kind of back to normal,” Logan Cole said.

Logan Cole said he’s back to school for the most part.

“When it happened I didn’t know what to think … didn’t know how bad it was,” Cole said. “From what I’ve heard, it’s a miracle.”

Prior to Jan. 20, Logan Cole said he spent three months with his mock trial team preparing for a competition. It was to be held that Friday he was shot.

“I was all dressed up and really looking forward to going to Marysville,” for mock trial,” Cole said.

But since the shooting, his relationship with God has gotten even stronger, he said.

“The way God has helped me through this has kind of improved my attitude toward it,” Cole said. “It helps me get through it to be positive.”

Cole said in another two to five months the brace he is wearing will come off. He hopes then to resume normal life.

“It shows you how quickly things could end,” Cole said.
