Crews in two area communities work to repair water main breaks

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Crews in two Montgomery County communities are working to repair water main breaks that occurred Monday morning.

A water main break on Tionda Drive in Vandalia sent water gushing into the street this morning.

Vandalia Public Works employees were on the scene pumping out the main break and making repairs around 11 a.m.

The city said it hopes they will be able to avoid having to decrease pressure in the area, which if required, would necessitate a boil advisory.

Salt trucks also responded to the scene to help with any potential freezing water issues on the road.

In Moraine, the southbound lanes of Dryden Road were blocked around noon following a water main break. Our photographers observed water gushing through the pavement as Montgomery County Water Services crews worked to make repairs.
