Semi hauling 5,000 pounds of chicken feed overturns in Trotwood

A grain truck out of Greenville overturned into a ditch this evening after the driver said a car pulled out in front of him.

The tractor-trailer was hauling 5,000 pounds of chicken feed at 6:30 p.m. when the truck struck a guardrail and rolled over at Ohio 49 and Hoover Avenue in Trotwood.

The driver suffered cuts to his face and eye and was going to be taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. He said he swerved to avoid hitting the other car at the time of the crash.

Crews were using large vacuums to suck up as much feed as they could. The grain was headed to a chicken farm in South Carolina, the truck driver said.
