DAYTON — A man suffered non-life threatening injuries after accidentally shooting himself in his groin-area, according to Dayton police.

Officers and medics responded to a house in the 3100 block of East Second Street in Dayton around 1 p.m. on initial reports of a shooting.

The man attempted to pull a gun out of his pocket when it fired, striking him in his groin, investigators said.
The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
