OSP: SUV driver at fault in 3-vehicle crash involving Trotwood cruiser

TROTWOOD — UPDATE @ 7:30 p.m.

The driver of an SUV was cited for a crash this afternoon involving a Trotwood police cruiser.

The sport-utility vehicle’s driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with a Dodge Charger.

The momentum of the crash caused the vehicles to bump into the cruiser, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post, which investigated the crash.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries and the officer was not hurt.

FIRST REPORT

A Trotwood police cruiser was involved in an injury crash this afternoon at the intersection of Shiloh Springs Road and Salem Avenue.

The three-vehicle crash reported just before 3:45 p.m., according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

A second medic was called to the scene. It’s not clear what led to the crash, whether the cruiser had its lights and sirens on, nor the number and extent of injuries.
