Car fleeing police with doors open strikes pedestrians, leaves scene

DAYTON — At least two people were injured when a car fled down an alley with its doors open as the driver attempted to elude police, according to witnesses.

Police responded to an alley in the area of Norman and Eastview avenues around 1:45 a.m.

A woman who was hit said there were several people standing in an alley when the suspect saw police come down the alley. She said he drove off with his car doors open, and the open doors struck several people.

No one was seriously injured.

The driver crashed into a pole in the area of Riverside and East Hudson a few minutes later. The driver fled on foot.

A police K9 was brought to the scene, but police were unable to locate a suspect.

The car was stolen out of Moraine, police said.
