News Center 7’s John Bedell to fly with Thunderbirds

Before the United States Air Force Thunderbirds take to the sky for this weekend’s Vectren Dayton Air Show, News Center 7’s John Bedell will strap in for a ride inside one of the F-16 Fighting Falcons.

Prior to today’s flight Bedell will undergo a series of training sessions and be fitted for his flight suit.

Air Show Weekend Forecast Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini talks about what to expect outside at the air show this weekend.

As part of his training, Bedell will learn how to deal with the G-forces he will experience while flying several thousand feet above the Miami Valley.  He’ll also learn the different breathing techniques.

Tonight beginning at 5 p.m. on News Center 7, you’ll see how Bedell handles the flight and learn more about the challenges these pilots have when flying the F-16s.
