Multiple Darke Co. residents face drug-trafficking charges

More than a dozen people in Darke County are facing drug-trafficking charges after a six-month investigation led to indictments, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrest warrants have been issued for more than 15 people who face felony charges of trafficking in fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana, according to the release.

Ten of the cases involve trafficking in heroin and five of the suspects were already in jail on other charges, according to the release.

Thirteen people have been arrested so far. Those arrested from Greenville are Dakoda J. Gilbert, 21; Keagan R. Fair, 27; Kyllian M. McNutt, 24; Timothy W. Spurlock, 49; Taylor Swartz, 21; Alexander P. VanHoose, 19; Dustin C. Copp, 27; Ryan S. Ruppe, 27; Lee F. Ware Sr., 47. Also in custody are Shaela N. Thompson, 25 and Sierra T. Hill, 30, both of Union City, Ohio, and Amberly M. Williams, 26, of Dayton.

According to the release, “Darke County Sheriff Toby Spencer wants to send a strong message to drug dealers that this criminal activity will not be tolerated in our community.”
