Moraine police looking for gunman who robbed Subway on state Route 741

UPDATE @1:55 a.m.: Moraine police are asking for the public's help in identifying an armed robbery suspect.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday, a white male suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts entered the Subway in the 5600 block of Springboro Pike.

The man pointed a black handgun at employees and demanded cash, according to police.

The male appears to be in his 20s to early 30s, short to average height and stocky in build. He appears to have light facial hair or tattoos on his face, or both, police said.

He was also wearing a red bandanna around his face and neck.

UPDATE @ 10:55 p.m.: Police are looking for a gunman who got away with "a couple hundred dollars" when he robbed the Subway store, Sgt. Kenneth Lloyd said.

The man had a hoodie pulled up around his head, so police aren't sure of his age, the sergeant said.

He was last seen on foot, running south from the Subway toward the Kroger store nearest to West Alex Bell Road at state Route 741.

Lloyd asked anyone who may have seen the suspect or witnessed the robbery to call Moraine police at 937-535-1166.

INITIAL REPORT

Police in Moraine are looking for a masked man believed to have robbed the Subway restaurant on state Route 741 (North Springboro Pike).

The incident was reported sometime after 9:30 p.m.

From what we've been able to learn, the man has visible tattoos and was wearing a yellow mask that obscured his face when he left the Subway.

He was walking toward the Kroger, which is in the same mall bordered to the south by West Alex Bell Road.

Police have asked that a K-9 unit be brought in to help in the search.
