Kettering detective under investigation resigns DETECTIVE RYAN MENO

A Kettering police detective who was placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation involving possible criminal activity has resigned from the department.

Detective Ryan Meno submitted his resignation to the department last week, according to city officials.

Kettering Police Chief Chip Protsman said he could not discuss the specifics of the criminal allegations against Meno since the investigation is still ongoing.

“I cannot go into the specifics at this time since the matter is ongoing, but I can tell you that I’m very disappointed,” Protsman said in a post of the department’s Facebook page.

According to Protsman, the department has been investigating Meno for the past four months.

“When someone victimizes or attempts to victimize our citizens we will do everything in our power to bring them to justice,” Protsman said.

Meno has been with the Kettering Police Department for 11 years and in 2015 made $96,973, according to the I-Team Salary Project.

The department plans to share additional information about the investigation once its complete.
