Forecast heat could shorten strawberry season

Temperatures expected in the 90s Sunday and Monday could jeopardize how long strawberry crops last for the 2017 season, according to local farmers.

A local farmer told News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy he was hoping to get another week out of the strawberry crop, however the predicted heat could not only jeopardize the crop, but it also could deter people from going out to pick the fruit.
