Reports of flooding, damage after heavy rain; flood advisory in effect

Rain and storms continue to weaken as they move south.  Flooding was reported in some areas late Sunday night and early Monday morning. Shelby and Mercer counties remain under a flood advisory until 8 a.m.

UPDATE @2:05 a.m. Lingering high water has closed Ohio 116 in the 15000 block in Auglaize County.

UPDATE @12:55 a.m. There is high water on several roads in Richmond, Indiana.

UPDATE @12:20 a.m. Flooding has been reported in Mercer, Auglaize and Wayne counties.

  • High water has been reported at the intersection of Harris Road and Route 33 near the County Line in Mercer County
  • Water over tires of parked cars has been reported near the intersection of College Avenue and Southwest G Street in Richmond, Ind.
  • High water has been reported near the intersection of Amsterdam Road and Erie Road in Auglaize County.
  • High water has been reported near the intersection of E. Shelby Road and Holtkamp Road in Auglaize County.

UPDATE @10:30 p.m. Flash flooding and wind damage has been reported in Shelby County.

Several trees and limbs are reportedly down near the intersection of Ailes Road and County Road 119 near Anna in Shelby County.

On County Road 25A north of Anna, there is several inches of water on the roadway. 25A is impassable.

UPDATE @9:20 p.m.: Hail the size of a quarter has been reported in Maria Stein in Mercer County.

UPDATE @ 8:35 p.m.: Golf ball size hail was reported at 8:15 p.m. in Fryburg in Auglaize County.

UPDATE @ 8:20 p.m.: Quarter-size hail was reported at 8 p.m. in Wapakoneta in Auglaize County.

UPDATE @ 8:11 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm warning is in place through 9 p.m. for Auglaize and Shelby counties. Storm hazards include 60 mph winds and 1-inch hail.

UPDATE @ 8 p.m.: Quarter-size hail was reported at 7:58 p.m. in Waynesfield and penny-size hail was reported at 7:59 p.m. in Wapakoneta, both in Auglaize County, according to the National Weather Service.
