Deputies ID woman killed in Darke County crash

UPDATE @ 8:10 p.m.

The driver killed in a crash early this morning was identified tonight as 27-year-old Kristen N. Lee of Arcanum by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Lee was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus around 2:30 a.m. when investigators said she apparently did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Hogpath Road and U.S. 127 in Neave Twp. Her car was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 22-year-old Tyler Stone of Brookville. He suffered minor injuries and declined treatment.

Lee was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

FIRST REPORT

One person was killed early this morning in a two-vehicle crash in Darke County.

Crews were called around 2:30 a.m. to the crash at the intersection of Hogpath Road and U.S. 127 in Neave Twp., Darke County Sheriff’s Sgt. Shawn Trissel.

Preliminary investigation shows the driver of a Ford Taurus failed to stop at a stop sign before colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado.

The Ford struck the passenger side of the Chevy and then a utility pole before coming to a rest on its side, Trissel said.

According to the Trissel, the driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Chevy suffered minor injuries and refused treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office and the Darke County Coroner's Office.
