Two Dayton police cruisers collided Friday afternoon while officers were responding to three robbery calls reported within 20 minutes.
The crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Wilmington and Wayne avenues. A Dayton police sergeant and an officer were taken to a local hospital to be checked out, but they were believed to be OK, police said.
The officers involved in the crash were among those responding to reports of three robberies that occurred within 20 minutes in the same area. The same suspect is believed to have robbed all three businesses: Dairy Queen, Sundeck tanning salon and a Subway restaurant on the city's east side.

A Dayton police cruiser was involved in a crash near the intersection of Wilmington and Wayne avenues this afternoon.
It’s unclear whether anyone was injured in the crash, which has shut down the road in that area.
