A 10-year-old boy was shot twice in a drive-by shooting while he was playing outside, leaving the boy in critical, but stable condition, according to our Cincinnati news partner WCPO.
According to WCPO the shooting happened while the boy was playing in the front yard of a family member’s house on Forest Avenue.
“One of the callers said that the car was driving randomly down the street, and it seemed like the shots were being fired randomly out of the car,” Cincinnati Police Sgt. Eric Franz told WCPO.
Franz said someone fire at least 10 shots from a silver Nissan Altima or a silver Mercury around 6 p.m. Saturday.
A deacon at nearby baptist church told WCPO he was in the middle of a church service when he heard the gunshots.
"I thought it was firecrackers then I came outside came to the corner here, and I saw a little boy laying on the ground,” Brandon Derriso, a deacon at Rockdale Baptist Church told WCPO. “They took him up by the house, and it was trying to get him put pressure so he would stop bleeding."
WCPO reported that the description of any suspects in the case were not known and anyone with information should call police at 513-352-3040.
