Body pulled from Butler Co. pond Saturday ID’d as man missing since January

WEST CHESTER — UPDATE @ 8:25 a.m. (March 22):

A man reported missing since January was identified as the body pulled from a West Chester bond over the weekend.

The Butler County Coroner’s Office identified the body recovered as that of Alexander Enslen, 31, who was reported missing January 31, according to our news partners at WCPO-TV.

Enslen’s death has been ruled an accidental drowning, according to the preliminary findings of the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

Police were called Saturday to the Union Station Apartments near Cincinnati Dayton Road around 5 p.m. after a person walking spotted what they thought was a body in the water. The body was removed from the pond and taken to the coroner’s office for identification.

Enslen had been reported as a missing person since January 31 when he disappeared while walking on Cincinnati Dayton Road in the early morning hours. He was last seen walking behind a Domino’s Pizza location on Cincinnati Dayton Road around 1 a.m., according to WCPO-TV. His body was recovered about a block away from where he was last seen.

Enslen had been at the Olde Village Tavern and left the bar walking on Cincinnati Dayton Road. His apartment was about two blocks away on Lakeside Drive, according to the station.
