Armed robbers hit Valero gas station in Dayton

Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Valero gas station, 527 S. Smithville Road, in Dayton.

The owner, Parminder Singh, said two males wearing masks made off with several thousand dollars in the robbery reported just after 7 p.m.

Both men had guns, he said.

One remained at the front door of the business and the second jumped through the transaction window inside to get at the cash register.

Singh said a customer who witnessed the robbery tried to wrestle one of the robbers, but was not able to detain him. The customer was not injured, the owner said.
