1 taken to hospital from Kettering apartment fire

One person was taken to the hospital after a fire at an apartment complex in Kettering Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to the three-story apartment complex near the intersection of North Marshall Road and Devon Avenue around 10:20 a.m.

Initial emergency dispatch reports from firefighters at the scene indicated smoke was showing from the building when they got there.

Firefighters said they were able to keep the damage to one unit of the apartment complex and some damage extended out into the hallway.

The person who was hurt is expected to survive their injuries, firefighters said.

Those impacted by the fire were expected to be relocated to other units that were vacant in the complex, according to investigators.

Investigators were still working to determine what caused the fire to start, although they don’t suspect anything suspicious.
