George Floyd: Vigil, moment of silence mark demonstration in Bellbrook

BELLBROOK — UPDATE @ 7 p.m.: Educational speakers and a moment of silence marked a peaceful demonstration in Bellbrook’s Bellbrock Park.

Organizers brought presenters who tried to educate the gathering about black life in America and other civil rights issues. The gathering also fell into silence for the nearly 9 minutes George Floyd was pinned down on a Minneapolis street on Memorial Day, with a police officer’s knee on his neck, until he died.

The demonstration was planned for an hour, from 6 to 7 p.m.
