Fire alarm leads to evacuation at Burlington Coat Factory

MIAMISBURG — A malfunctioning air conditioning unit is to blame for an alarm that prompted an evacuation at the Burlington Coat Factory in Miamisburg.

The store at the South Towne Center, 2122 Miamisburg Centerville Road, was emptied of customers for about one hour this afternoon while firefighters checked for a possible fire.

An official at the scene tells us a motor on an AC unit on the roof of the building malfunctioned, which led to the fire alarm going off in the store.

The store reopened to customers by 3 p.m.
