Warren County shooting 911 call: ‘I shot him ... on purpose’

TURTLECREEK TWP., Warren County — The ex-wife of a man shot and killed at a residence on Oregonia Road reported she “shot him…on purpose.”

Mercedes Robb called 911 just after she said she shot Jason Robb, 36, in the yard of her home in the 3100 block of Oregonia Road on Thursday morning.

“I just did it,” Mercedes Robb told the 911 operator, adding that she didn’t want the sheriff’s deputies to respond with sirens, because she feared it would wake her children up. “I don’t want them to see him, because they love him. They just don’t know any better.”

Mercedes Robb said she shot Jason Robb, because she was worried he was going to harm her children.

“I’m not a violent person. I’m not,” she told dispatchers, but also admitted that she did the shooting. “I’m guilty. I did it.”

The ex-wife also declined trying to perform CPR on Jason Robb and said she “was going to kill” herself, “but then..couldn’t do it.”
