Trotwood police: Man shot multiple times

UPDATE @ 6 p.m.

A 24-year-old man was shot multiple times this evening, but his injuries are not life-threatening, said Trotwood police Deputy Chief John Porter.

The shooting victim was shot from two directions during a confrontation involving one or several individuals in front of Action Wear, 4713 Salem Ave., Porter said. He was identified as Kesharn Burney of Dayton.

“He’s not been really cooperative but we hope to get more information from him,” Porter said.

A witness said she heard nine shots fired, and said a man was shot in a parking lot near Family Dollar.

FIRST REPORT

Police and medics are responding to a report of a man shot this evening outside a store.

The shooting was reported just before 5 p.m. in the 4700 block of Salem Avenue, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

According to initial reports, the shooting victim went inside a Family Dollar store to get help.
