Counterfeit money at 3 Troy businesses leads to pursuit, arrests

Two Cincinnati men have been arrested after they were accused of passing counterfeit money at multiple Troy businesses before leading police on a pursuit.

Sean Black, 37, and Darnell Davis, 48, were arrested after leading Tipp City police on a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 75 and Interstate 70 that eventually ended in the area of Hoke Road and I-70.

Black and Davis are accused of passing counterfeit money at the Troy Meijer and Kohls stores and attempted to pass fake cash at the Troy Walmart, according to police reports.

The two suspects used a fake $100 bill to purchase a t-shirt at the Meijer and the duo also used the funny money to make a purchase at Kohls, the reports said.

Black and Davis are both charged with forgery and theft charges and Black also is facing a charge of fleeing and eluding, according to jail records.

INITIAL REPORT:

A pursuit has ended this afternoon in the area of I-70 and Hoke Road this afternoon.

The pursuit initially started in Miami County around 3:30 p.m., according to initial reports.
