Woman ID’d, in serious condition after being shot twice in Dayton

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 8 a.m (12/09/17): One woman is in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital after being shot in Dayton on Friday, according to officials.

Megan Bockrath was transported to Miami Valley Hospital via Careflight from Good Samaritan Hospital after initially being driven there with gunshot wounds.

Bockrath underwent emergency treatment for two bullet wounds to the back.

In a confession to police, Daniel Boyd, who was with Bockrath when the shooting occurred on Kipling Drive at Otterbein Ave, said that after a car-to-car drug transaction, three black males started shooting at the vehicle they were in while driving westbound on Kipling Drive near the Prescott Drive intersection.

According to a police report, after locating the vehicle in the area of Kipling and Prescott, officers observed multiple bullet holes in the back of the vehicle, noticed the rear and left side rear windows had been shot out, and seen that two bullet holes had penetrated the front seat with corresponding bloodstains.

Boyd was detained at Good Samaritan Hospital after he was found in possession of felony drugs and counterfeit money.  He was then transported to Montgomery County Jail on charges of felony drug possession.

Officials continue to investigate the incident.

INITIAL REPORT

A woman with a gunshot wound tonight was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital.

The hospital reported it to police shortly before 9 p.m., according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

According to reports, the shooting may have happened in the area of Kipling Drive in Dayton.

The woman, whose condition was unknown, was transferred to Miami Valley Hospital.
