Fairborn school briefly on lockdown after suspect flees police

FAIRBORN — UPDATE @ 4:40 p.m.

Baker Middle School was on lockdown for an hour early this afternoon after a suspect fled from police not far from the school, Fairborn police Sgt. Willard Watson said.

Police were assisting Adult Parole Authority for a wanted suspect when he ran. The school was never in any danger but the lockdown was a precaution, the sergeant said. It lasted from 12:31 to 1:24 p.m., he said.

The suspect had no known weapons, and was taken into custody.

Dismissal for the Lincoln Drive school was as usual.
