VIDEO: Man taken into custody after trying to abduct 2 females

Surveillance video from a BP gas station shows at least five police cruisers surround the dark-colored Buick and suspect in the attempted abductions on Lakeview.

Dayton police have not released the name of the man taken into custody.

UPDATE @ 12:45 p.m.

Dayton police have a man in custody they say tried to abduct two females.

The suspect, who has not been named yet, reportedly tried to lure one female into his car but she ran away. He then tried to lure a second girl by brandishing a weapon, but that female also ran away.

EARLIER REPORT

Dayton police are investigating a report of a possible abduction attempt this morning, according to dispatch records.

Officers responded to the Shell, 4125 West Third Street, around 9:30 a.m. after receiving a report that a suspect vehicle believed to be connected to a possible abduction attempt was spotted at that location.

Initial reports indicated officers were able to follow the suspect vehicle and have detained a possible suspect at the BP station at Edwin C. Moses Blvd. and Interstate 75.
