WPAFB Thursday Weather: Air Pollution Advisory issued; possible evening storms

WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE—Sunshine and cool temperatures to start Friday, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs.

Quickly climbing out of the 50s after sunrise as temperatures rise to the lower 80s for a high in the afternoon. Sunshine will give way to some clouds through the day and the chance of a few evening showers and thunderstorms are possible. Severe weather is not expected, but downpours, lightning and isolated gusty winds are possible.

UV index during the day will be very high, so wearing sunblock is suggested. Also, an Air Pollution Advisory has been issued for the day. Ground level ozone, also known as smog, will be high and that’s why the advisory has been issued. Anyone with respiratory issues should limit their time outdoors.
