Venus, one of the most visible planets, has joined the early morning sky in the Miami Valley, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.

Venus is actually now the third brightest object in our sky following the sun and the moon. If you wake up early, it will be hard to miss this bright planet, especially on a clear morning. You will know it is Venus and not a star because it won’t twinkle.

Venus rises all month long around 4 a.m. It will be above the horizon before sunrise, making it easier to see. Look to the southeast sky and you should be able to easily find it.

In January, Jupiter is usually below Venus making it another sight to see.

When skies are clear in the early morning hours look for these two planets.

If you find Venus, share a picture using the hashtag #SkyWitness7.
