MIAMI VALLEY — Clear skies leading to Christmas will let you do some stargazing!

Three planets and even a comet light up in the evening sky this week.

Venus, Saturn and Jupiter will shine brightly low in the southwestern sky this week. Each night between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. you can see the three. Venus will be the brightest and also closest to the horizon.

A bonus near the three planets is the “Christmas comet” known as the Comet Leonard. This comet is one of the best of 2021. It is now visible in the evening near Venus right after sunset. It isn’t easy to spot though without a set of binoculars.
