Storms taper into the evening, flood advisories issued for some

Storms should weaken across the northern half of the Miami Valley tonight but are expected to return on Wednesday. Some of these storms could be strong and produce damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning along with locally heavy rain and flooding.

UPDATE @ 9:15 p.m.

As storms begin to taper off, flood advisories remain in effect for Champaign and Logan counties until 11 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. In addition, a flash flood warning has been issued for Logan County until 10:45 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warnings also remain in effect for Champaign and Logan counties until 9:30 p.m.

Storms will dissipate tonight with a marginal risk for a few storms north of I-70, according to News Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell.

TONIGHT: We’ll still have a chance for a few showers or storms, mainly early tonight. Any storms should taper off by the overnight with partly cloudy skies. It will remain warm and muggy with temperatures in the 70s.

WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy skies are expected with a few showers and storms. A few storms could be strong. Highs will be in the upper 80s still with muggy conditions. 

THURSDAY: Scattered showers and storms are likely with a few strong storms possible again. It will remain muggy with highs in the middle 80s. 

FRIDAY: A break from the storms is expected with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will approach 90 degrees. 

SATURDAY: Partly cloudy skies to start off the weekend with pop-up storms possible. Temperatures will be near 90 degrees. 

SUNDAY: Scattered storms likely with a few of them being strong. Warm and humid again with highs in the middle 80s.
