Storm threat increases into Thursday afternoon

A cold front will bring a few strong to severe storms to the Miami Valley on Thursday.

Partly cloudy skies and mild conditions are expected with overnight low temperatures dropping into the lower 60s, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.

Thursday: Partly sunny skies along with breezy and warm conditions are expected. High temperatures will top out near 80 degrees. Scattered thunderstorms will develop by late afternoon into the early evening. A few storms could be strong or severe. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats from the storms along with locally heavy rainfall.

Friday: Expect a mix of sun and clouds with cooler air arriving. High swill be in the lower 60s.

Saturday: Breezy and cool conditions are expected with a chance for showers. Highs will hold in the middle 50s.

Sunday: Clouds will break for sunshine by afternoon. It will be breezy and seasonable with highs in the lower 60s.

Monday: Mostly sunny skies and seasonable temperatures are expected to start the workweek with highs in the middle 60s.
