The full moon in April is known as the Pink Moon. The moon is also considered to be a supermoon! Skies will be clear Monday night to see the beautiful moonrise around 8 p.m. and stay out all night long.
A supermoon is just a full moon that occurs around the same time the moon is closest to Earth during orbit. It is said to be slightly bigger and brighter than a micro moon which occurs when the moon is farthest from Earth. Looking at the moon with the naked eye, it would be hard to tell the difference in the sky.
Either way, because it is rising in the evening while the sun is setting, it will be hard to miss! The moon technically becomes full at 11:31 p.m. It will be the first of three supermoons in 2021. The next supermoon is May 26 and the last one for the year will be June 24.
