Look For Mars Near the Moon

Clear skies through the holiday weekend gives you and the family a great opportunity to get outside and do some stargazing! Three planets will be shining bright through the weekend.

The one you want to look for first is Mars! Mars will be near the bright moon from September 4 until September 7. The planet will rise around 10 p.m. in the east and stays close to the moon through the early morning hours.

If you can’t find Mars, two other planets are out. Saturn and Jupiter will be in the southern sky throughout the night. Jupiter will shine very brightly and Saturn will be close by.

Clouds should stay scarce enough to give you a good view.
