Some roads reopen, others still closed due to high water in Clark County

CLARK COUNTY — UPDATE @ 1:50 p.m. 

New Carlisle Pike, between Lost and Folk Ream roads in Bethel Twp., Clark County has reopened, according to a release from the Clark County Engineer’s Department.

Haddix Road, between Spangler Road and Ohio 235 and Lower Valley Pike between Enon Road and Lammes Lane has also reopened, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Parts of Lower Valley Pike near Spangler Road could reopen soon, but still remain blocked in a few locations along Lower Valley Pike, dispatchers with the sheriff’s office and the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Both directions of Spangler Road between Union Road and the Interstate 70 exit, and Snider Road at Lower Valley Pike remain closed due to high water.

High water signs have been placed in several locations across Clark County following Sunday’s severe storms and heavy rain, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The high water has also prompted Tecumseh Local Schools to issue a two-hour delay Monday, citing multiple area roads that were underwater, the district said in a Facebook post Monday morning.

Spangler Road remains blocked in both directions, starting at the Interstate 70 exit to the south, and at Union Road to the north, according to the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. There was not an estimated time for the road to reopen.

Haddix Road between Spangler Road and Ohio 235, Lower Valley Pike between Enon Road and Lammes Lane, and New Carlisle Pike between Lost and Folk Ream roads, are also blocked due to high water.

Multiple high water signs were placed at several locations across Clark County by work crews Sunday night, but deputies have not had a chance to check on the road conditions early Monday morning.
