— A new season is almost here! In one month, on September 22, the autumnal equinox will occur signaling the start of fall. Meteorologically speaking, fall will begin September 1, because in the weather world seasons are based on the annual temperature cycle, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.
One big change you will notice heading into autumn is the rapid change in the amount of daylight we are receiving. After the summer solstice, the days have been getting shorter and from fall to winter the loss really kicks into high gear.
