Reports: At least 2 injured after vehicle takes off from deputy, crashes in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TWP. — A vehicle that deputies attempted to stop in a traffic stop took off and later crashed in a Harrison Twp. intersection Friday morning, injuring at least two people, according to initial reports.

Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Needmore Road and Webster Street just before 5:30 a.m. The deputy said he activated his lights to attempt a traffic stop but the driver refused to stop and took off and continued east on Needmore Road, according to emergency scanner traffic.

Initial reports indicate the deputy discontinued his chase but witnessed the vehicle hit another one at the intersection of Needmore and Warnger Ford roads.

At least one person was reportedly trapped inside a vehicle after the crash and at least two medics responded to the scene.

The conditions of those injured in the crash were not immediately known.
