UPDATE: Drivers seriously hurt after crash on Needmore Road in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TWP. — UPDATE @ 8:11 P.M.:

Two people sustained serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Needmore Road, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said an investigation showed that one vehicle was traveling East on Needmore Road when the driver failed to yield at the red light and hit a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Payne Avenue.

Both drivers were transported to Kettering Health Dayton, formally Grandview Hospital.

A stretch of Needmore Road near I-75 in Harrison Twp. has been blocked while deputies investigate a crash Friday afternoon.

Deputies and medics were called to the area of Needmore Road and Payne Avenue, just west of the I-75 ramps, around 2:20 p.m. after the crash was reported.

Dispatch records indicate at least two vehicles were involved and injuries were reported in the crash. According to emergency scanner traffic, at least two people were taken to area hospitals but the conditions of those injured were not immediately known.

Deputies have placed crime scene tape up around the crash scene for the investigation, according to our crew on the scene.
