Dayton Upsets St. Bonaventure to Conclude the Regular Season

Flyers hold the Bonnies to a season low 52 points

OLEAN, NY — In the 2020-21 regular season finale, the Dayton Flyers went on the road to the Reilly Center in Olean, New York and upset the Atlantic 10 regular season champs, St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 55-52. The Flyer played the last 3:51 without senior guard Jalen Crutcher who fouled out. Ibi Watson was the only UD player to score in double figures with 14 points, R.J. Blakney and Mustapha Amzil each scored nine. Jalen Crutcher was limited to six points due to foul trouble.

The Flyers improved to 13-9 overall, 9-7 in the Atlantic 10.

Dayton’s defense held St. Bonaventure to 30 percent shooting from the field, including 7-31 in the second half. UD outrebounded the Bonnies, 36-32.

The Dayton Flyers’ next game will be in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament in Richmond, VA against Rhode Island on Thursday afternoon. Tip-off is 3:30 pm, pre-game coverage begins at 3 pm on the home of the Flyers; 1290 and 95-7, WHIO. You can also hear the game online here at
