— Last year the Miamisburg Vikings made their deepest ever run in the state football playoffs. Steve Channell’s team lost in the Division II regional finals last season. This season, the Vikings have bounced back up to D-I.
The Vikings have some holes to fill up front with the loss of Josh Myers to Ohio State and Cody Lamb to Cincinnati, but do have plenty of talent returning. Channell says the tradition is established and that’s something his guys don’t want to lose.

“Every year they’ve been playing at Miamisburg they’ve been winning,” Channell said. “I think that foundation is already set. I think going last year to the regional finals showed them what the capabilities of this program can be.”
