DAYTON — The Dayton Flyers offered a scholarship to Maceo Austin, a three-star recruit in the class of 2019. Austin announced the offer Saturday on Twitter.

Austin is a 6-foot-5 guard from Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, Pa., which is just across the Ohio/Pennsylvania border, northeast of Youngstown.
Austin is the 35th-ranked shooting guard in the nation, according to 247Sports.com, and ranks 187th overall. Rivals.com ranks Austin 149th in the nation.

Austin has offers from Xavier, Virginia, Penn State, Richmond, Pittsburgh, St. Joseph’s and others. He averaged 18.2 points per game as a junior and was named the Class A player of the year in Pennsylvania.
Dayton has two scholarships open for the 2018-19 season and will have at least one scholarship opening after the 2018-19 season with Josh Cunningham being the only scholarship senior on the roster.
