Donald Heil, of Dayton, is 89 and sits in section 200. His daughter Lisa Laidlaw (Heil), left, said, "He has been a UD season-ticket holder for 59 years, nine in the old Fieldhouse and other 50 in UD arena. He lives and breathes UD basketball. He can tell you stats and starting lineups from teams in the 80's and 90’s. His brain is sharper than a chef's knife! He had to sell half of the tickets the last three years because he is physically unable to make it to many games but his heart is with them every game. ... Quick story. When I was having surgery in Minneapolis in 2006 for breast cancer, he and my mom drove from Dayton in the middle of winter to be by my side. The surgeon came in to see me in pre-op and noticed Dad wearing a UD Flyers jacket and struck up a conversation. It was comic relief and a testament to the fact there is never a bad time or place for Dad to discuss his beloved Flyers. Dad has seven kids who all love UD, too, and have great memories of going to games with him while growing up in East Dayton."
