Ohio State football announces important spring dates

The return of Ohio State football is 52 days away.

Well, at least the Buckeyes’ return to the practice field.

The school announced Thursday that spring practice will begin March 2 and conclude April 11 with the annual spring game.

In between, the Buckeyes will hold 13 other practices and get time off for spring break.

Before that, the team is scheduled to begin winter workouts next week.

Among those taking part will be 15 newcomers, including 14 members of the 2020 recruiting class who graduated early and began taking classes winter semester.

The 15th is Corey Rau, a graduate transfer tight end from SMU who is a walk-on.

In Ryan Day’s second year as full-time head coach, Ohio State is expecting back 10 starters from a team that won the Big Ten and made the College Football Playoff.
