MIAMISBURG — Miamisburg football fans will have to wait a couple of weeks for the opening of their new stadium on campus. Unexpected delays to Eudon Holland Stadium will force the Vikings to play another game at Harmon Field in week two of the season.
In a statement posted on the school’s website Athletic Director Jason Osborne said: “While construction continues towards completion, the installation of the home and visitor stands has been delayed for reasons beyond our control. Additionally, the blue seats (stadium backs and bottoms) will be refurbished upon installation later this month. As a result of this delay, the Vikings will host CJ on Sept. 2 at Harmon Field. The district is optimistic they will be celebrating the stadium grand opening when Miamisburg plays Wayne on Sept. 16.
The stadium will seat about 5,400 fans on both sides. Those seats were purchased from the Daytona International Speedway after the Nascar track tore out a corner of their stands and sold them online.
