Hartsock: Trojans winning ways return to Troy

Troy, Ohio — They are no strangers to success on the football field at Troy high school, but it had been awhile since since the Trojans had felt that feeling until Matt Burgbacher took over four years ago.

The Trojans went 10-2 in 2016 and 8-3 last season, winning the GWOC North division title both years.

“This is what I imagine when I took this job,” Burgbacher said during a break in summer camp this week.  “Year one was rough but it was a good learning experience for all of us and then the last two years have been great years for us but here with the expectations that is expected.”

The Trojans lost their quarterback and four offensive linemen to graduation, but senior running back Jaydon Culp-Bishop should carry a lot of the load.

Troy opens at home against Belmont on Friday, August 24th.
