Former Dayton guard Rodney Chatman has announced that is transferring to Vanderbilt. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Chatman came to Dayton after transferring from Chattanooga and played two seasons. He started in 42 games, averaging 7.7 points a game in his two seasons with the Flyers. Chatman started in all 29 games in 2019-20 when UD went 29-2 and finished ranked third in the country before the season was canceled due to the pandemic.

Last season, Chatman was limited to 12 games due to a torn ligament in his right hand and missed six weeks. He scored a career-high 21 points in Dayton’s win over Ole Miss on December 19th and scored 15 in UD’s double overtime win against Mississippi State on December 12th. Chatman is one of three players to enter the transfer portal, Luke Frazier and Dwayne Cohill are the others.
The Flyers went 14-10 last season, losing to Memphis in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament.
