Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter’s time with Fox Sports is over.
A network spokesperson confirmed to Cox Media Group that is the case following reports Carter was on the outs with his employer since 2016.
Carter, who starred at Middletown and Ohio State before playing 16 seasons in the NFL, was the co-host of a morning show on Fox Sports 1 since May 2017.
Front Office Sports reported Monday that Carter had taken a "leave of absence" from the show since late last week and that it could be a precursor to his leaving the network.
Carter was an analyst for HBO’s “Inside The NFL” and ESPN prior to joining Fox Sports.
He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013 after finishing his career with the second-most receptions (1,101) and touchdown catches (130) in NFL history.
