Dayton suffers disappointing road loss at Duquesne

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Dayton Flyers never led Tuesday night against the Duquesne Dukes in a 69-64 loss at the U.P.M.C. Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Dukes jumped out an 15-3 lead to open the game, making their first six shots. Marcus Weathers led Duquesne with 20 points.

Jalen Crutcher led UD with 28 points while Mustapha Amzil had a double-double, 11 points and 11 rebounds but the Flyers went 8-35 from beyond the arc, including 2-16 in the first half. Senior Ibi Watson went 0-10 from three-point range and finished with eight points. R.J. Blakney added 10 points while Jordy Tshimanga had three points in only nine minutes of action due to foul trouble. Dayton falls to 10-5 overall, 6-4 in the Atlantic 10.

Dayton is back in action Friday night when they host George Mason. UD was scheduled to play Richmond but that game was postponed due to the Spiders pausing team activities due to Covid-19 protocols.
